Rickey Smiley made his first appearance on “The Wendy Williams Show” on Friday, January 13th. As loyal viewers would expect, Wendy Williams dug for dirt. Fortunately, Rickey wasn’t the target, but Wendy did want to know what led to Claudia Jordan‘s departure from “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show” after just one year.
In 2014, Claudia Jordan joined “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show” and filled the void created after the exit of longtime co-host Ebony Steele. A year later, Da Brat replaced Claudia, leaving a lot of listeners (and Wendy Williams) wondering what happened to her. So Wendy directly asked Rickey about what led to Claudia’s departure during his visit to “The Wendy Williams Show.”
Rickey didn’t seem rattled by the question, and his candor about the negative response from Claudia Jordan joining the cast of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” was surprising and refreshing. Even though Claudia is no longer a part of Rickey’s nationally syndicated morning show, he did highlight Claudia’s professionalism.

Wendy Williams talked to Rickey about his TV One docuseries “Rickey Smiley For Real,” and she had great things to say about him and his “Dish Nation” co-hosts Porsha Williams and Da Brat. Their conversation also went a bit into Hot Topics when they discussed the upcoming celebrity boxing match between Chris Brown and Soulja Boy.
Despite their differing points of view on Chris Brown vs. Soulja Boy fight, overall, Rickey left Wendy’s couch relatively unscathed after their conversation. See the full interview in the video below.
